Workshops for Youth
1) Prayer That Changes the Heart: A Simple Rule for Real Life
Description:
Prayer is not only words—it is communion with God that heals the heart. This workshop offers a practical, realistic prayer rule rooted in the Agpeya, Psalms, and the Jesus Prayer, and helps us fight distraction and grow in repentance and peace.
Youth – 3 takeaways
Goal: Create a personal rule that can actually be kept daily.
Practical tools against distraction (phone boundaries, short focused prayers, repeated Psalms).
Connect prayer to confession and repentance: prayer leads to change, not emotions only.
Personal rule (Agpeya + Psalms + Jesus Prayer), fighting distraction, prayer + confession + accountability.
2) Divine Liturgy as a Way of Life: From the Altar to the Street
Description:
The Divine Liturgy forms our mind, purifies our heart, and teaches us how to live. This workshop helps us participate with understanding, prepare well through repentance and confession, and carry the Eucharistic life into our homes, schools, and work.
Youth – 3 takeaways
Goal: Understanding Liturgy deeply (why we stand, responses, meaning of Anaphora), participation not attendance.
Move from “attending” to “participating”: meaning of responses, standing, reverence.
Understand Communion: preparation, repentance, purity, and why it changes the heart.
Carry the Liturgy into daily life: choices, friendships, speech, and inner discipline.
3) The Home as a Little Church: Marriage, Parenting, and Peace
Description:
God calls the Christian home to be a place of love, forgiveness, and holiness. This workshop strengthens marriage and parenting with a Coptic Orthodox spirit—communication, repentance, raising children in faith, and building a home that reflects Christ.
Youth – 3 takeaways
Goal: Future marriage & purity, choosing wisely, boundaries in relationships, honoring the sacrament.
A clear Orthodox vision of relationships: purity, dignity, and the purpose of marriage.
Practical boundaries: emotions, texting, secrecy, and choosing the right influence.
Healing family tensions: honoring parents, respectful dialogue, and building trust.
4) Living Orthodoxy in a Digital Age: Holiness, Purity, Peace, and Wisdom with Screens
Description:
Our phones can bless us or drain us. This workshop equips the Church to live Orthodox life in a digital world: guarding the heart, protecting purity, overcoming anxiety and comparison, and setting practical boundaries that lead to freedom—not guilt.
Youth – 3 takeaways
Goal: Purity, social media, anxiety/comparison, addiction patterns, practical boundaries + spiritual tools.
Purity strategy: triggers, habits, confession, accountability, and replacing sin with healthy practices.
Handling anxiety/comparison: identity in Christ, gratitude, and disciplined consumption.
Practical boundaries: time limits, unfollowing harmful content, tech-free zones, and spiritual tools.
